My husband Jim and I have taken on a fixer upper and have lovingly restored it over the past 20 years. HI, we just moved to a beautiful vintage 1850 farmhouse a few months ago and I've been feverishly planting it up to add some cottage gardens to the existing borders. We've got two ponds, one with a bridge, a zen garden with lots of specimen plants, a formal garden, cozy front porch, and a pool with expansive gardens. The property also has these unique tree sculptures and garden statues. There is SO MUCH to see here. Welcome to Tudor Rose Cottage, my storybook cottage on the corner. Built in 1936 of brick with river rock trim, the exterior is all original, as is the surrounding brick wall with rock pillars. The craftsmanship is exceptional, with many charming architectural details. I added the wrought iron fence and arches above the gates. Now covered with masses of climbing roses as you enter. I designed a romantic English Cottage garden, full of roses, flowers and plantings. Roses are my favorite, so there are many colors and varieties. Whimsical brick and flagstone walkways, paths and patios allow a stroll through the lovely garden. It's been a labor of love restoring this delightful historic home.

Our cozy cottage in Maine has been fully renovated inside and out by my husband, Dan and me. It is surrounded by gorgeous gardens. It even has a sweet garden cottage and a courtyard that use for relaxing and entertaining.I hope you enjoy the views. We would love to be featured in your magazine!

My 1921 Craftsman bungalow is a show stopper! Since i purchased it in 2017, I had the outside painted, replaced the front door, had shrubs removed and transplanted lilac trees that were hiding the front windows, removed the backyard fence and had new front steps replace the old! I physically shoveled a "ton" of pea gravel to make a seating area under a tree, ripped out probably 100 day lilies and vinca vine. I have planted a beautiful cottage garden and I'm in the process of planting sod on the park way! People always ask, when they pass by, if it's an air B and B This is my forever home and I'm not done yet Christmas is amazing also!! People knock on my door to let me know who beautiful it is. Just makes my heart happy

Seaside New England bungalow with gorgeous gardens

Built in 1888 and renovated in 2017. We love our little place.

We bought this adorable little cottage in a wooded lake subdivision on Delavan Lake, WI in 2014. It was built in the 1930 as a small seasonal fishing cabin and was 780 sq.ft. It is now 1,050 sq.ft. The property was in disrepair and on a very steep lot. We have completely remodeled it inside and out with keeping the cottage look. We added the fish details in the peak, made rusty iron leaves with house numbers. A shade landscaped front garden with rock spheres and stone path. Unfortunately I was unable to attach a current picture because our spring has been very late here in Wisconsin. I can send additional pics as soon as my plants are all up. I would love to also send additional pics that include before we started restoring it, which would show our improved curb appeal! Thank you for this opportunity to share our family cottage.

The Lexington was built in 1918 and is listed on the national historic registry. It's considered an airplane craftsman, which are rare, as the upstairs from the outside resembles a cockpit. Usually the upstairs is one large bedroom but in this case it was converted to two bedrooms and a full bath while the parlor downstairs off of the living room was converted into the primary bedroom. The Lexington is located in the South Lake Morton historic District in Lakeland Florida. It also has a full basement which is also quite rare in Florida. We have a lovingly brought it back to its original glory inside and out .

We built our farmhouse (a modified Southern Living Four Gables) on a lake in Florida in 2020. It was my dream since I was a kid to have a white farmhouse with a big porch. We recently planted some flowers and I love the big oak tree by the house with the Spanish moss hanging from the limbs. I wanted a charming historic look, so we added some black louvered shutters for some added character. Earlier this spring I hung some ferns on the porch. The front porch is the perfect place to rock in the rocking chairs, relax, and sip on some tea.
