An active family of four found their “forever home” in Newport Beach, California, after years of searching. Keep scrolling to see all the gorgeous photos of this modern beach home!
This primarily black, white and tan home has coastal décor scattered throughout.
Designer Mindy Laven loved revamping the home. “One of the special features is our signature custom white oak Dutch door,” she reveals. “Who doesn’t love a Dutch door to catch the ocean breeze?” To see more of Mindy’s stunning work, visit her at www.mindylaven.com or on Instagram @mindylavenhome.
Never underestimate the power of artwork! A large piece like this can make a statement and tie a space together.
The family loves that their home is so close to the water and that it’s in the same neighborhood as the matriarch’s parents.
“Having extended family right down the street has been a dream come true for the family!” exclaims Mindy. This plush couch invites them all to sit down and spend time together.
With comfy furniture, a large tv, and plenty of storage space, this living room is just fabulous.
After spending the day outside, the family can come home and share a meal in their spacious dining room, which is accented by a striped area rug, taper candle holders, and turtle shell décor.
Since the home’s doors and windows don’t have any coverings, sunlight pours into the rooms, making them feel more bright and cheerful.
The kitchen features beautiful woven barstools, a trio of pendant lights, and a fun assortment of pineapples on the large island.
Mindy loves that the kitchen’s backsplash extends all the way to the ceiling.
Don’t forget to decorate your hallways! These accent pieces carry the beach theme from one room to the next.
The surfboards on this bathroom’s accent wall look striking and nod to the home’s nautical surroundings.
We love how the floral backsplash creates variety and matches the tile in the shower.
When you’re planning your designs, remember to incorporate textures, like Mindy did with the pillow on the bench and the tassels on the bedspread.
Who doesn’t love throw pillows? The ones pictured here have a simple design that complements the room’s color palette without distracting from the rest of the décor.
Thanks to the sliding glass door, the bedroom’s occupants can easily access the home’s outdoor lounge area.
Bright flowers give this neutral space the perfect pop of color.
