H ALWAYS ONE FOR HOLIDAY SURPRISES, LESLIE MADE HER OWN CHRISTMAS MIMOSAS. READ ON FOR HOW TO MAKE THE DRINK YOURSELF. WHAT YOU’LL NEED: • 4 ice molds • 12 cranberries • Orange juice • Cranberry juice • 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary (optional) • Champagne • Wine or champagne glasses WHAT YOU’LL DO: 1. In four ice molds, place twelve cranberries spread out across the molds, making sure to give enough space between each cranberry so that no ice cube will have too many cranberries. 2. Next, pour cranberry juice into two of the four molds, filling them about an inch or so below the top of the mold. Liquid expands when it freezes, so too much juice, and your ice cubes will expand beyond the ice mold. 3. Then, if preferred, carefully pull off a few of the rosemary leaves to add a zesty taste to your ice cubes. Place these in the cranberry juice. 4. Now repeat steps 2 and 3, using orange juice for your liquid. Then place your ice molds in the freezer to freeze overnight. 5. When ready to make your mimosas the following morning, remove your ice from their molds and place the ice cubes in your wine or champagne glasses. Pour as much orange juice and champagne as you desire to make your Christmas morning extra merry. HOW TO MAKE LESLIE’S CHRISTMAS MIMOSAS BOTTOM, LEFT • Christmas Caroling. Each of Leslie’s placemats has a line from a popular Christmas carol. BOTTOM, RIGHT • Holiday Spirits. To make her Christmas morning even more merry, Leslie made some cranberry and orange mimosas with rosemary and real cranberries. OPPOSITE • Brilliant Baubles. An easy way to gesture to Christmas is to add some bowls of baubles on a Christmas tablescape, says Leslie. She chooses green, red and white in keeping with her color palette yet sprinkles in some silver and gold tones occasionally to elevate the display. 92 HOLIDAYdécor | 2022
