øld-world beauty combines with traditional Southern and even Scottish touches in Heidi Parson’s holiday home in Utah’s Cache Valley. As a designer and the creator of Home by Heidi, she is continually expressing her love of family and interior design—a sentiment which becomes especially meaningful during Christmas. “Christmas evokes a feeling of pure magic in me, where family and traditions come together in a safe haven of warmth and happiness,” she says. “There’s little else as magical as snow-covered trees, a fragrant evergreen wreath hanging on your front door and a glowing fire during Christmastime.” Since family and traditions are so important to her, she imbues her home with styles rooted in her history, Georgian elegance and Scotland. LEFT • Private Porch. Heidi’s side porch has more of a casual and intimate vibe.“Close friends and family enjoy entering this door as it ows right into the kitchen, which we all know is the heart of the home,” she says. Comfy pillows in rocking chairs beckon on winter nights warm enough with a blanket and a cup of hot cocoa. RIGHT • Arches Galore. Over many years of research, Heidi took note of beautiful arched doorways, especially ones in older homes from the 1700’s.“This era has always mesmerized me, so I knew I wanted to add a few arched doorways in our home as a nod to the amazing craftsmanship of that decade,” she says. Two arches ank the kitchen, one on the right and left of the island, and another arch leads into the primary bedroom.“They make me happy each time I walk through them,” she says. 66 HOLIDAYdécor | 2022
